
This marked the third season of Nike teaming up with and investing in BIPOC designers during NYFW. In past seasons, we focused mostly on behind-the-scenes moments—capturing the energy at the shows. But for Spring ‘23, we wanted to go deeper. We shifted the spotlight to the designers themselves—who they are, where they come from, and what inspires their work.
To bring that to life, we launched a new workstream alongside our runway coverage: Designer Storytelling. The content and assets we created not only highlighted each designer’s unique journey, but also connected directly to the product—pieces featured on the runway and items from their collaboration collections with Nike. It was about showing the full picture: the story behind the style.
